What is Connected Places?
Connected Places is the best place to understand the world of the new generation of social networks. I’m Laurens Hof, and on Connected Places I report all that is happening in the world of Bluesky and the ATmosphere, Mastodon and the fediverse, and beyond.
Connected Places is build on the belief that the new generation of social networks matter. Social media platforms are tools we use collectively make sense of the world, and they should not be owned by a few tech oligarchs. The upcoming platforms such as the fediverse and Bluesky promise to provide better alternative places for our social connections. (Read more about this on the getting started page).
The world of decentralized social networks is very interesting and relevant, but also much more different, than people often assume. Connected Places helps you make sense of it all. I get you the facts on what is actually happening, and provide the analysis and context to understand what is happening, and the direction the spaces are going in.
